Benjamin "Ben" A. Wells

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Benjamin Andrey Wells, who tragically left us too soon at the age of 24 on Sunday, January 19, 2025. Ben was born on November 21, 2000, in Krasnoyarsk, Russia. On April 7, 2001, our family was blessed with the adoption of our beautiful son. Ben had a huge heart and was happiest when helping others. He possessed an old soul, wise beyond his years, and showed extraordinary compassion, care, and healing toward everyone he met. Despite the many challenges life handed him, Ben never complained. Instead, he worked harder to accomplish things that others might take for granted. We will forever miss Ben’s smile, his enormous heart, and his unwavering kindness. As a young boy, Ben was full of boundless energy and often found himself immersed in adventures, dressed as Spider-Man or Indiana Jones. His love of imagination evolved into a mastery of Lego building and Nerf gun battles, and later, a passion for dirt biking, where he spent countless hours riding and exploring. Ben attended Saline Schools for 12 years. When he entered high school, he was eager to start working and showed a determination and work ethic well beyond his years. He held his first job at Coney Island, where he worked for two years, followed by two years at Flat Out Bread after graduating from Saline High School in 2020. Through his hard work and determination, Ben achieved the remarkable milestone of purchasing his first home in Milan at just 21 years old, a testament to his resilience and ambition. For the past two years, Ben worked at Xela Pack Inc., where he continued his career in Manufacturing. Ben loved traveling and the adventures that came with it, he loved simple things like sunsets and a beautiful sky, but more than anything, he loved to help others. Ben leaves behind many to cherish his memory, including his mother, Kim, and stepfather, Dennis Cutright of Manchester; his father, Douglas Wells of Pinckney; his sister, Katie Wells of Saline; his stepsister, Kelli Cutright of Arizona; and his stepbrother, Joshua Cutright of South Carolina. He is also survived by his grandparents, Charles and Jayne VanWashenova of Newport and Max and Rose Cutright of Illinois, along with two aunts, Jeanne VanWashenova of Ann Arbor and Leslie Peschke of Naples; as well as other beloved family members. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Arvin and Jeanne Wells of Ohio. Private services have taken place.
