Carol F. Heim

Carol F. Heim, age 86, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 in Chelsea, MI. She was born May 26, 1937, the daughter of Fred and Margaret (Christy) Kaeser. Carol was born and raised in Detroit, moving briefly to Maple Heights, Ohio where she graduated from Maple Heights High School (1955). Following graduation, she returned to Detroit where she enjoyed her work at Wayne State University. While an active member of Woodward Avenue Baptist Church, she met the love of her life, Gerhard, over a cup of coffee that began a lifelong love of nearly 56 years and stayed home to raise their family. Carol and Gerhard enjoyed their travels to Europe (including Germany, Austria, and Venice) and the game of golf where Carol held her own and won a few rounds herself. Carol enjoyed baking, sewing, poetry (Helen Steiner Rice and Robert Frost), coloring and crafts. She shared her faith and values with her family and was an active member of Saline Baptist Church for many years. It was only within the last year or so, she transitioned to Glazier Commons Assisted Living in Chelsea. Carol was a welcome friend and shared her faith in Christ with all who knew her. Her family wishes to thank the staff of Brio Living/Chelsea Retirement for all their excellent and loving care given to Carol and her family. She is survived by daughters Linda (Heim) and Dale Dawson, Betty (Heim) and Glenn Hmay, Barb (Heim) and Mike Huff, Mary Ann (Heim) King, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Josh and Sarah Dawson, (Noah, and Emma), Jeremy and Laura Dawson, Esther Dawson, Sarah Dawson; Stephen and Lori Huff (Madilyn and Natalie), Tiffany Huff, Brittany Huff, Heather (Huff) and Fiyin Awodele; and Kyle and Marielle King (Jessie, Kingsley, Sebastian), Ashley King. Carol was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gerhard. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home in Saline, MI. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Dale Dawson officiating. Burial will take place privately following the service and will be held in the Oakwood Cemetery in Saline.
