Helen Betty Witkowski

Helen Betty Witkowski, age 93, of Saline, Michigan passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 26, 2025 surrounded by her family. Helen was born November 29, 1931 to the late Pasqua and Mattia Mucciante. On May 25th, 1957 she married the late Charles R. Witkowski. Helen is survived by her four children, Mark Witkowski (Nancy), Linda Smigulec (Mike), David Witkowski (Khushboo), Mary Caye Spieth (John), and six grandchildren, Melissa, Michael, Lauren, Steven, Gianna and Milo. Helen was preceded in death by her daughter Marie Witkowski and her siblings Maria, Lawrence, Anthony, Albert and Elio. She is survived by her sister, Ida Mucciante. Helen was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, an accomplished violinist in the Detroit all girls orchestra, and a retired professional cook at The Henry Ford (Greenfield Village). She found much happiness in spending time with family, especially her grand children. She loved to crochet and was passionate about making quilts, which were award winners in the Saline Fair. Cooking and gathering with family was her greatest joy. Helen, our beloved mother, sister, friend, embodied grace, strength, gratitude, acceptance and most of all love. She is our North Star, guiding us and shining brightly forever and always. Her presence on this earth and in our lives was a gift. She is at peace and resting in Gods hands. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation on Monday, February 3, 2025, from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Saline. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. with Fr. John Linden as Celebrant. Burial will immediately follow at St. Hedwig Cemetery, Dearborn Heights, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Helen’s name may be made to St. Andrew Catholic Church or The Humane Society of Huron Valley. Envelopes will be available at the Church.
