Rosalie "Toni" A. Boyd

Rosalie A. “Toni” (Manso) Boyd, age 95, of Manchester, Michigan passed away suddenly and peacefully, without tears or pain on Wednesday October 29, 2025. Rosalie “Toni” was born March 11, 1930 in Fairmont City, IL, the daughter of Jose Francicso Perez Manso of Oviedo, Asturias, Spain and Magdalena Benita (Muñiz) Manso of Piedras Blancas, Asturias, Spain. While working as an interpreter with the military in Indianapolis, IN, Rosalie “Toni” met young Army serviceman, William C. “Bill” Boyd. The two married on November 28, 1953 at the Holy Rosary Church in Fairmont City, IL. They moved to suburban Detroit where the couple was blessed by the births of their six children, eventually relocating to the open fields of western Washtenaw County. In those earlier days of child rearing, Rosalie “Toni” spent many years as an elementary school secretary at the family’s home parish school, St. Bede Catholic School where she was known to be tough and disciplined. Rosalie “Toni” was also a professional seamstress who took great pride in creating wonderful outfits for all occasions including school and community musical performances and family weddings. She enjoyed oil painting and had various other talents and hobbies. Following the family’s move to Manchester, Rosalie “Toni” and Bill enjoyed raising horses for 15 or more years. The couple were parishioners at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester for several decades. Rosalie “Toni” was preceded in death by William C. “Bill” Boyd, her husband of nearly 62 years, who passed away on August 28, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Brianna Rosenberg; 2 brothers and their wives; 2 sisters and their husbands; her brother-in-law and many close friends. She is also survived by her dear sister Virginia (Manso) Martiszus as well as numerous dear nephews, nieces, and friends who she loved and who meant a great deal to her. Rosalie “Toni” was mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother of: Vicki Rosenberg (Michael) of Wilson, WY -- Brianna Rosenberg (deceased); Evin & Kevin Catlett / William; Graeme & Corinne Rosenberg / Jack, Daniel; Braden & Melinda Rosenberg / Riley, Silas Susan Spellman (Peter) of Cleveland, TN – Sara Spellman; Matthew & Rachel Spellman / Avalon; Elizabeth & Jon Christiansen / Conner, Deven, Jareth; Kathryn & Eduardo Aguilar / Gabriella, Issac; Melissa Spellman Patricia Canterbury (JB) of Mulberry, FLA -- Dylan & Adrianne Canterbury Beverly Wolfe (Robert) of Saline, MI -- Grace & Ian Prochaska; Ian & Ané Wolfe; Audrey Wolfe Kelly Boyd (Lea) of Ann Arbor, MI -- Stephanie & Marcus Peter / Benedict, Therese, Bernadette; Bridget Boyd Elizabeth Bellas (Allen) of Edina, MN – Derek Bellas; Aaron Bellas. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Saline on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. with Fr. John Linden as Celebrant. Gathering will begin at 10:00 A.M. until time of Mass. Following the service, inurnment will take place at the church columbarium.
