William C. Boyd

Boyd, William C. Manchester, MI Age 86 passed away on Friday, August 28, 2015 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Chelsea. He was born July 7, 1929 in Mullenville, KS, the son of Walter Benjamin and Margaret (Krug) Boyd. On November 28, 1953 at the Holy Rosary Church in Fairmont City, IL he married Rosalie A. Manso and she survives. Bill was Vice-President of Frank’s Nursery and Crafts until his retirement in 2000. After he retired, he became a Master gardener. He was also a member of St. Mary Catholic Church of Manchester and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus-St. Francis Council #4401 in Southfield, MI. Bill was also a Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War. In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his children, Vicki Lynn (Michael) Rosenberg, Susan Gayle (Peter) Spellman, Patricia Louise (JB) Canterbury, Beverly Anne (Robert) Wolfe, Robert Kelly (Lea Marie) Boyd and Elizabeth Jean (Allen) Bellas, grandchildren, Evin Faye (Kevin) Rosenberg Catlett, Graeme Michael (Corinne) Rosenberg, Braden David (Melinda) Rosenberg, Sara Frances Spellman, Matthew Peter Spellman, Elizabeth Gayle (Jonathan) Christiansen, Kathryn Marie Spellman, Melissa Rose Spellman, Dylan Boyd Canterbury, Grace Amelia Wolfe, Ian Alexander Wolfe, Audrey Frances Wolfe, Stephanie Mae Boyd, Bridget Marie Boyd, Derek Anthony Bellas and Aaron Tyler Bellas, great-grandchildren, Conner Joseph and Deven Michael Christiansen and sisters, Nadine Boyd Holder and Yvonne Boyd. He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Brianna Clare Rosenberg, sister, Pauline Boyd Preddy and brother, Walter Blaine Boyd. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 from 10:30 AM until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church 210 W. Main St., Manchester, MI with Rev. Fr. Bosco Padamattummal, celebrant. Inurnment Committal Services will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 2:30 P.M. at St. Andrew Catholic Church Columbarium 910 Austin Drive, Saline, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the charity of one’s choice and envelopes will be available at the church.
