Age 100, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. She was born on January 5, 1915 in Budapest, Hungary the daughter of Maria “Minnie” Elfriede (Schickler) and Andrew A. Fischer. In 1919 the family moved to Berlin, Germany and then arrived in America in 1923. They resided in New York City and Pittsfield, Massachusetts, before settling in Michigan. She was married to Buell Wesley Kellogg for 70 years, until his death on December 5, 2002. Anne and Buell moved to Ypsilanti in 1937 before moving to Saline in 1960. They enjoyed traveling including Hawaii and Germany. During WWII she volunteered in war efforts including surveying the Ypsilanti area for possible living quarters for the recruited workers for the Willow Run Ford Bomber Plant. In the 1950’s Anne became a Stanley Home Products Dealer. She worked at various clerical positions. She retired from Xerox University Microfilms (UMI) after 27 years. Memberships include life-member of the Pythian Sisters, Saline Area Historical Society, Michigan Farm Bureau (the former Arnold Lake neighborhood group), and others. Obtaining her American citizenship was a source of pride. She lived by the Golden Rule and the Ten Commandments. She loved all animals and living things and was passionate about social justice, peace, and she was concerned over the environment. Survivors include their children Faye M. (Frank) Zimmerman, Gary B. (Delia) Kellogg, and Nancy A. (Steve) Bartlett. Other survivors include their grandchildren Deborah (Brian) Jones, Paul (Allisa) Zimmerman, John (Gwen) Zimmerman, Joyce (Steve) Wheatly, Jenice (Steve) Smith, Beth (Andrew) Schott, Tara Crothers, Thomas (Tara) DeLoach, Abby DeLoach, grandson-in-law Jeff Ludwig, great-grandchildren Layne, Leslie, Anna, Drake, Austin, Atticus, Grace, Lilly, Lena, Frank, Clark, Audra, Colin, Stephen, Julian, Ryan, Collin, and great-great-grandchildren Hazel and Lincoln. Additional survivors include her brothers Andrew J. Fischer and Reginald (Joanne) Fischer, sisters-in-law Marjorie Elliot and Nancy Kellogg, her brother-in-law Morley Kellogg, several nieces and nephews and cousins in Germany, and many special friends. Anne was preceded in death in addition to her husband and parents by granddaughters Beverly Kellogg and Judith A. Zimmerman. Her family, each and every single one, were precious to her. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 4:00 P.M. at the Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home in Saline with Pastor Randy Johnson, officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Huron Valley Humane Society or to a charity of one’s choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home where friends may begin calling on Friday, May 1, 2015 from 2:00 P.M. until the time of service at 4:00 P.M.
