Betty Lou Danielson
June 4, 1932 - December 19, 2021
On Sunday, December 19, 2021, Betty transitioned to her forever heavenly home with Jesus. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, daughter and friend. Second child of George A. and Lelah F. Martin (Miller), Betty was born in their home on Lesure Street, Detroit, Michigan on June 4, 1932. During her childhood years, her family lived in Detroit during the school year and spent the summers at Cranberry Lake. Those summers at the lake with her extended family were her favorite childhood memories. Betty married Carl H. Danielson on March 18, 1949, and together they raised seven children. Betty’s life changed completely when she made Jesus the Lord of her life. This new life in Jesus led to her involvement in many ministries at Bethesda Missionary Temple in Detroit and then Bethesda Bible Church in Ypsilanti. She retired from Ford Motor Company in 1992. She loved to cook, bake, travel, fish, camp and read. At age 84, Betty became a volunteer at the Salvation Army Adrian Corps and in 2017 she received the Volunteer of the Year Award. She is survived by her sister Elaine Eberhardt, brother Terry Gaster, her children Bette (Larry) Plaster, Carla (Fred) Land, Michele (Karl) Kennedy, Matthew (Janette), Carl (Marie) and Jessica (Stan) Wallace, her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Donna (Gene) Baker, Mary (Tom) Warren, Sandra (Jerry) David, and Rose Mary (Larry) Luthe, her daughter Wynne (Jeff) Knox, grandsons Marty Land and Carl Danielson, great-grandchildren Kerri Wright, and Samuel Reed. Betty’s celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at House on the Rock Church, 6560 Merritt Road, Ypsilanti, Michigan. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the Salvation Army in honor of the deceased. The children of Betty would like to say “thank you” for joining us in celebration of Betty’s life. We sincerely appreciate your love, care and prayers in this very difficult time.
