Charlotte Lewis Carroll 90, of Saline Michigan passed away peacefully on March 25, 2018 with her family by her side. Charlotte was born on April 27, 1927 to the late John Patrick Fitzpatrick and Florence M. (Smith) Fitzpatrick. On December 26, 1950 she married the late Paul E. Carroll Jr. Charlotte is survived by her seven children, Dr. Charlene Carroll of Corvallis, OR, Madeline Carroll (Greg Moneta) of West Linn, OR, Paul E. (Gretchen) Carroll III of Sylvania, OH, Timothy (Gigi) Carroll of Aiken, SC, Michele (Jeff) Hamminga of Constantine, MI, Sean (Lisa) Carroll of Jackson, MI, and Noel (Thomas) Summers of Jupiter, FL. Twenty Five Grandchildren, Nicole Elise Carroll-Maupin, Emily Sheagan Clark, Devin Carroll Clark, Timothy Robert Clark, Brian (Sarah) Carroll, Jennifer Carroll, Carly Carroll, Scott Carroll, Jonathan (Hope) Carroll, Christina (Bryan) Barnett, Cody Brown, Cameron Brown, Teagan Carroll, Ryan Hampton, Timothy (Sarah) Carroll Jr., Robert Carroll, Joshua Hamminga, Alibi Hamminga, Echo Hamminga, Sean “Rourke” Carroll, John “Cormac” Carroll, Catriana Raquel Carroll, James Summers, Steven Summers and Gabrielle Summers. Fifteen great-grandchildren, Vanessa Carroll, Natalie Carroll, Miriam Carroll, Brooks Barnett, Jake Barnett, Irelyn Barnett, Ryevin Stanley, Jakob Stanley, Helena Hamminga, Henry Hamminga, Bentley Hamminga, Bentley Baker, Lucas Fulton, Journey Hamminga, and Loveli Clarkson. She is also survived by siblings Mary (late Raymond) Anchors (late Doug McLaughlin) and Lawrence (late Katie) Fitzpatrick and many god children, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by siblings Jack (Elizabeth) Fitzpatrick, Elizabeth (John) Swift, Thomas (Marilyn) Fitzpatrick and Joanie (Joseph) Sommers. In addition to raising seven children she was very active in her church and communities. Char loved to sew. She was always increasing her education and skills by taking classes at the local community college or attending workshops. Char even played with the idea of becoming a real estate agent and also helped out tax firms during tax season. She was always volunteering at schools and would read to children and was a girl scout leader. She also volunteered at nursing homes. She loved to dance. She was a member of the 40 diners dance club and even took belly dancing and Cha Cha lessons. She loved the theatre and playing bridge. She took Judo lessons and loved gardening. Char loved her faith and admired Our Mother Mary. Always health conscientious which led to a long fulfilled life and is most likely why she had always wanted to donate her body to science. A memorial service will take place on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Saline, MI. Friends are invited to celebrate Charlotte’s life with her family from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00 A.M. Memorial contributions may be made to Arbor Hospice, The Salvation Army or Capuchin Soup kitchen. Envelopes will be available at the memorial service.
