Elizabeth “Betty” Zimmerman Wagner, age 92, passed away peacefully at King’s Daughters Home in Midland, Michigan, on Monday, April 4, 2016. Prior to living in Midland, Betty lived in Saline, Michigan, Naples, Florida, Redford, Michigan and Port Hope, Michigan. Born in Detroit, Betty was a lifelong Detroit Tigers fan. One of her great childhood memories was going to watch the Tigers with her dad at Briggs Stadium. Betty was very adaptable and was Don's right-hand girl, both on the Port Hope farm that they owned together for 18 years, as well as his secretary at his State Farm Insurance agency. She loved to sew, quilt, crochet, garden, cook, bowl, and most of all, take care of her family. Betty loved her church and volunteered often. She was also a member of the Kiwanis Club of Saline, and worked to help her community. Betty was a great worker and was always willing to help anyone who needed it. She always wanted to follow the rules and be fair to everyone. She is survived by her children, Raymond (Barbara) Wagner, Hanna, Wyoming, Betty (William) Gaffke, Midland, Michigan, Kenneth (Barbara) Wagner, Northville, Michigan, Richard (Christine) Wagner, Saline, Michigan, and close nephew Hank (Bonnie) Hertz, Surprise, Arizona. Betty was the devoted grandmother of Tara (Steven) Cockrell, Lesa (Mark) Avery, Michael (Stacy) Gaffke, Todd (Cindy) Wagner, Daniel (Leigh) Gaffke, Eric (Josh) Wagner, Shelly (Nic) Carpenter, Jeremy Wagner, Ryan (Katrina) Wagner, Joshua Wagner, and Lara (Ryan) Wagner. Betty also had 18 great grandchildren. Preceding Betty in death, her husband and love of her life, Donald Wagner, her parents, Russell and Georgina Zimmerman, sisters Isabel Sabins / Weiss and Ruth Bullard, brother William Zimmerman, and close sister-in-law Mary Hertz. Betty's family would like to thank King’s Daughters Home for the wonderful care she received. A Service celebrating Betty’s life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 143 E. Michigan Ave. on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Jaco Bester officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to King’s Daughters Home, First Presbyterian Church of Saline, or the Kiwanis Club of Saline. Envelopes will be available at the Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home in Saline, 301 E. Michigan Ave. where friends may begin calling on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 between the hours of 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and again at the Church on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00 A.M.
