Frank Joseph Zupi

February 20, 1932 - February 27, 2020

Frank Joseph Zupi, age 88, died Thursday, February 27, 2020 at home with his children at his side. Frank was born February 20, 1932 in Glassport, PA, the son of Gaspero and Catherine (Tavelaro) Zupi. He lived in Glassport until he left to serve in the United States Army as an MP. Following his military obligation, Frank went to MSU to earn his Bachelors Degree in Police Administration. It was at MSU that he met his wife Patricia. On April 23, 1960 they were married at the St. John’s Student Center of MSU campus in East Lansing, MI. Frank resided in Saline, MI for the last 51 years. He was a proud member of St. Andrew Catholic Church and was very busy in the community. He worked as the chief probation officer of Washtenaw County for 33 years, retiring in 1993. Frank enjoyed working hard and keeping busy. He loved working out, cooking, watching sports, gardening, playing cards, but above all he loved his fur babies and lived for his family. Frank was preceded in death by his wife Patricia, son Curt, his parents, and siblings Angelina, Carl, Dominica, and Anna Marie, and Francis Benidict. He is survived by sons Christopher and Craig Zupi, daughter Catherine McKelvie, grandchildren Brandon (Kayleigh) Zupi, Brittany (Jeff) Thompson, Christopher, Kelsey, Aidan McKelvie, and Rebekah Zupi. Also surviving are great-grandchildren Dominic and Connor Zupi and Draper Thompson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Saline. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery in Saline and a luncheon will be held at the church. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home in Saline, with a Rosary Service to be held at 7:00 P.M.
