    Glenn E. Davis Jr.

    January 1, 1962 - May 29, 2019

On Wednesday, May 29th at 12:12 AM Glenn Eugene Davis Jr. surrounded by his loving wife, family, and close friends passed from his Relentless Big Life into an Endless Eternity of Love, Joy, and Peace. Glenn Eugene Davis Jr. was born on January 1st, 1962. His mother affectionately called him, "my bouncing baby boy!" From an early age, Glenn displayed an exceptional drive and a desire for knowledge. He excelled in school and was the captain of his grade school basketball team leading them to a State Victory the very first year. Glenn was a 1980 Graduate of Huron Valley Lutheran High and 1984 Graduate of Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota. Throughout High School and College Glenn was a proven leader who tirelessly championed and encouraged those around him to exceed. After graduating from college, Glenn worked his way up the corporate ladder in numerous organizations. For the past five years, Glenn held the position of Senior Vice President of Growth Execution and Client Retention at Optum, part of United Healthcare. Glenn married the love of his life and partner in living a 'Big Life' Janine Allen on December 30th, 1999. Janine brought three beautiful children into the marriage, and Glenn loved them as if they were his own. The family had homes in Livonia and Hale, Michigan where Glenn was the unelected Mayor of Long Lake. His dance moves are legendary at the Long Lake Bar. Glenn was the founder of the FISH @ The Wick Charity Golf event to benefit the FISH Organization in Hale. Glenn led his tribe in raising money for those in need in his community. Glenn first blog "9 Lessons from the 8th Floor" chronicled his cancer journey. His blog inspired people around the world and encouraged those fighting cancer to push forward and believe. Glenn's cancer journey was a miracle to behold as he fought leukemia not once, but twice. He was relentless to press on and not let the disease own one day of his life. Glenn beat cancer and was an inspiration to people worldwide. Eventually, Glenn launched a second blog entitled “Big Life” on his website, Visionary Leadership for Life. Traveling the globe as a motivational speaker, he encouraged his audiences to achieve their life's vision. His simple tools and common-sense wisdom for tackling life's most challenging problems; brought even the most seasoned executives to their feet. Glenn will forever be remembered as a loving husband, loyal friend, and devoted coach to every kid in the neighborhood. Teaching kids how to drive, coaching soccer teams, and organizing sporting events was a typical day in the life of Glenn. While his absence in the community will be huge, his influence will continue through the young people he mentored and coached. Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Dianne Davis, and nephew, Nicholas Davis. Glenn is survived by his loving wife Janine, children Julia, Jacob, and Madeline Sawecki, his sister Carrie (Steve) Childerston and brothers Owen (Cheryl) Davis, Jim (Michele) Allen and John (Karen) Allen. His loving in-laws Jim and Kathy Allen, who loved him like a son. Nieces and Nephews include; Max Davis, Michael Cote, Lauren (Kory) Plockmeyer, Nicole (Liam) Lichti, Paige and Jonathan Allen, Ericka and Adam Allen. Great Nieces, Shiloh Plockmeyer and Lily Cote, and Great Nephew Judah Plockmeyer. Glenn was also the Godfather to Nicole Lichti and Paige Allen.
