    Kristen E. Voelker

    April 29, 1950 - May 31, 2020

Kristen Evans Voelker, 70, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2020, with her family by her side. Kristen was born on April 29, 1950 in Galion, Ohio to the late Frederick Weldon Evans and Ruth Ann (Dutton) Evans. On May 5, 1973, Kristen married G. Bruce Voelker. She is survived by her husband Bruce, children Adrienne Voelker, Kyle (Julie) Voelker, Morgan (Adam) Jeffrey, Chris (Lora) Freeman; grandchildren Adeline, Maeve, and Tallulah Voelker, Kevin and Brody Jeffrey, Breanna Hack, and Colton and Pierce Freeman. She is also survived by her Belgian daughter of the heart Sandrine Loriaux (David Clist) and their children Noah and Nathan; sister Lynne (Todd) Mossoian, brother Fred (Mary) Evans, sister/brother in law Darla and Ed Ashenbrenner; nephews Spencer Mossoian, Travis (Chris) Ashenbrenner, Bryan (Amanda) Ashenbrenner, and niece Tari Jo (Chris) Otradevec. Kris was preceded in death by her parents Frederick W. Evans and Ruth Ann (Dutton) Evans and in-laws George R. Voelker and Emma E. (Crebo) Voelker. Kristen was an extraordinary teacher who conveyed her creativity and love of art to her children and grandchildren, well after ending her teaching career upon the birth of her first child. Her compassion, empathetic nature, creativeness, talent, humility and love positively impacted so many lives as a friend, mentor, mother, grandmother and wife. We will all enjoy her diligent, disciplined, painstaking genealogy work for years to come. Love of family manifested itself in Kris’s passion for cooking, Christmas shopping to fill magnificently created stockings, baking incredible sugar cookies, creating the perfect birthday dinners, and her ability to just sit and listen. The beautiful smile and eyes, the laugh and sense of humor, the joyful spirit and all of her internal and external beauty will be missed but not forgotten. Kristen’s strength, generosity, kindness, honesty, and love, long admired, will continue to be a model for all who knew and loved her. Kristen will live forever in her art and our memories. Kristen’s cremated remains will be scattered by her family at a later date. Family and friends will gather when all feel safe to travel.
