Linne Mae Scott, age 99, went to be with the Lord Thursday, January 29, 2015 at her home at the Saline Evangelical Home in Saline, MI. Oldest of nine children Linnie was the daughter of the late Edd and Ida Patton, born on March 28, 1915 in Crossville, AL. She married J.B. Scott in 1938 and he preceded her in death on May 11, 2005. Raised on the family’s farm in Alabama, many of her younger years were spent picking cotton, raising their own garden, canning, devotion to God and helping care for her eight younger siblings. Her biggest love was for her flowers. She worked many hours in her flower gardens and won several “Green Thumb” Awards in Saline. She dedicated her energy toward rearing all different types of flowers and being a wonderful friend to all the people she met. Even when she moved to the Evangelical Home she continued to work in their greenhouses for many people to enjoy her work of art among her flowers. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Wayne, MI until 2007. Linnie will be remembered for her independent and positive spirit. Linnie leaves a legacy of faith, as a great cook, gardener, and many friends that all will cherish. The love, care and comfort that the caregivers and nurses provided for Linnie while living at the Evangelical Home will always be appreciated. Thanks so much.
