Neil N. Stierle

May 4, 1932 - July 29, 2013

Age 81, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a car accident on Monday, July 29, 2013. Neil was born on May 4, 1932 in Saline, MI, the son of Ernest D. and Clara A. (Betz) Stierle. He was a life long farmer on the family centennial farm. On June 8, 1963 in Toledo, OH, he married Christine E. Roshong and she survives. Neil was a lifelong member of St. Thomas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Freedom Twp. and also served on the Freedom Twp. Zoning Board for many years. He served as an Officer Member of Rogers Corner Farm Bureau for many years, and in his spare time, Neil loved to square dance. Survivors in addition to his wife include one daughter Mary (William) Rebstock and a grandchild Sean Joseph Murphy. Other survivors include cousins William (Rita) Berz, Daniel (Heather) Berz, brother-in-law David (Rebecca) Roshong, son-in-law Joseph Murphy, nieces Dr. Stacie Lynn (Walter) Roshong-Denk, Meeghan Roshong, nephew Ryan Roshong, and many great-nieces and nephews. Neil was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Erwin Stierle and Edwin Stierle, his sister Rubena Schneider, daughter Joanne Murphy, grandson Jack Joseph Murphy, and nephews Erv James Stierle and David Stierle. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. Thomas Evangelical Lutheran Church 10001 West Ellsworth Road Ann Arbor, MI 48103, with Rev. Charles Schulz officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery in Ann Arbor.
