Rita I. Widder

March 20, 1934 - April 2, 2019

Rita Irmgard Widder 85, of Saline, Michigan passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 with her family by her side. Rita married Heinz Widder on November 4,1963, and he survives. She lost her first husband Frank von Broda Sr. in January of 1962. Rita's passion was her family and she loved her flowers in her beautiful garden. She was mainly a stay at home mom. For a time she waitressed at the original Old Heidelberg and Manikas Restaurants. Survivors in addition to her husband Heinz include her children: Son Frank von Broda Jr. and his daughter Tiffany (Matt) Klemm, daughter Jamie Flick (von Broda), daughter Shannon Burns (von Broda), son Sonny von Broda, and daughter MaKayla von Broda. Daughter Susan Bishop (von Broda) and her children Stephanie (Andrew) Schones (Bishop-Fletcher), and daughter Heather (Ben Cusack) Bishop. Son David (Kris) von Broda and their sons Ian von Broda and Kristopher von Broda (partner Nicole Chaney). Son Rick Widder (partner Andria Johnson) and his children Matthew Widder and Tyler Widder. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren: Amelia Klemm, Deonna, Bennie, Tia and Jeffery Flick, Deandre, Alexis, Natalia, Lilliana, Aubriana, Alexandria and Alexander Burns, Carter and Grayci von Broda, Lora and Parker Fletcher, Will and J.J. Schones, Landon von Broda, Jordan Landerman, and Vincent von Broda. Additional survivors include her siblings: Hans (Linda) Meyer, Ruth (Werner) Bertram, Heidi Valentine, Christa Westerhold, Petra Meyer, daughter-in-law Marie von Broda and her children Nathan (Angela) von Broda, Venessa von Broda, Derrick von Broda and Jessie von Broda, and many nieces and nephews. Rita was preceded in death by her son Jurgen von Broda, her parents, her first husband Frank von Broda Sr, her siblings Gisela Grasshoff, Helga Dettenborn, Dieter and Martha Meyer, and her grandson David Bishop. Friends are invited to celebrate Rita's life with her family on Friday, April 5, 2019 from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home in Saline.
