Vera J. Britton (Beck, Palmer) Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Britton, Vera J, (Beck, Palmer) Age 94, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at the Saline Evangelical Home. Vera was born on November 6, 1922 in Ypsilanti, MI, the daughter of Charles F. and Mary E. (Andrews) Beck. On February 27, 1943 in the St. John’s Catholic Church in Ypsilanti, MI, she married Eugene Robert Palmer and he preceded her in death on September 12, 1983. Vera was a happy, outgoing person with lots of friends. She was very proud to have been in the Girls Drum and Bugle Corps in Ypsilanti, MI. Years later, she was especially proud when her two daughters were also in the Corps. She enjoyed playing cards, getting together with friends and relatives, athletics, exercising and swimming. She also really enjoyed singing and had a beautiful voice. Survivors include their children Susan Hagood and Michael (Cathy) Palmer. Other survivors include 5 grandsons, 2 granddaughters, her son-in-law Don Richards, 14 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Vera was preceded in death by her husband, daughter Sandra Richards, 5 brothers, and 3 sisters. A Memorial Gathering will take place on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 2:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home in Saline, MI with a Prayer Service to follow at 7:00 P.M. Deacon Paul Ellis officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her name may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Saline Evangelical Home and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
