Christopher Gray Lamkin passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. A man of deep curiosity, quiet strength, and boundless knowledge, Chris lived a life defined by learning, service, and profound connection to God and to the natural world. Chris was born December 10, 1954 with an innate love of discovery, learning, and writing - especially poetry. Chris pursued education with remarkable dedication. Ultimately he earned seven academic degrees; an achievement he carried with great pride. He was a natural teacher in every sense, someone who shared his knowledge and skills with patience, clarity, and genuine enthusiasm. As a chiropractor, he cared for others with skill and compassion, guided by his lifelong commitment to understanding the human body and helping people live well. Chris was a proud veteran of the U.S Army, 82nd Airborne. He was a farmer, a visionary, a planner, and a craftsman who carved a farm out of a forest. He found meaning working with his hands, and joy in the simple grounding rhythm of nature. He was an avid collector of history and the earth’s treasures; shells, rocks, pottery, and artifacts that spoke to the stories he loved to uncover. His curiosity was only matched by his reverence for the world around him. He is survived by his devoted wife Donna; his beloved mother Marie Stauder; his children Chris Lamkin and Amanda (Mike) Sajdak, stepson Michael Polzin; his beloved grandchildren, Dylan Lamkin, Lily Sajdak, and Luke Sajdak. He is also survived by his sisters; Jessica (Faro) Khakzad, Angela Murry, Lizabeth (Chris) Martin, Brenda (Chad) Freshcorn, and Diane (Larry) Czap; brothers; Matt (Brenda) Lamkin, Jim Stauder, Tom Stauder, and Ken Stauder. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his father Eldon Lamkin; stepfather Raymond Stauder; and brother Bradley Lamkin. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation on Monday, April 6th from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home in Saline. Funeral Services will take place at 2:00 P.M. with Chris’ brother Matt Lamkin as officiant.
