Margaret E. Patterson

Margaret Elizabeth Patterson, age 75, of Rochester Hills, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 11th, 2024 after a long battle with cancer. Margaret was born on May 25, 1948 to the late John W. Cruden and Elizabeth M. (Amaczi) Cruden. On May 30th, 1970 she married the late Ricky I Patterson. She received a bachelor's degree in Christian education from Detroit Bible College. After graduating, she traveled the world as a missionary, spending time in England, Belgium, and Iceland. After the birth of her son, James, she opened a cabinet shop with her husband in Oxford, Michigan. Some of her fondest memories were playing hide and seek with James in display cabinets. They sold the cabinet shop and settled in an old farm house in Rochester Hills, Michigan where she raised her daughter, Virginia. Margaret was a devout Christian and shared her faith through works of charity. She actively volunteered for organizations that helped children and disadvantaged. She was active in politics, running for multiple offices. Margaret is described as the sweetest lady that people have ever met. This is because she lived strongly by the golden rule- do unto others as you would have them do unto you. She believed strongly in equality and never stopped learning how to love and support others. Her family celebrates her freedom from suffering, knowing that her work on earth is now complete and she is at home with her heavenly father. Margaret is survived by her two children: James Patterson of Philadelphia, TN and Virginia Field of Chelsea; four grandchildren: Alexander Field, Madeleine Field, Sam Murray, and Sarah Key; one great-grandchild: Alexis Key. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation on Friday, March 1, 2024 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home in Saline. A Memorial Service will be held starting at 1:00 P.M. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Tennessee. Pastor Drex Morton to officiate.
