Robert William Guenther

Age 71, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. Bob was born on May 13, 1946 in Ann Arbor, MI, the son of Arnold and Myrtle (Dennis) Guenther. On January 2, 1965 in the St. Paul Church in Chelsea, MI, he married Nancy (Schmitz) Guenther and she survives. Over his lifetime Bob had many accomplishments. He worked for 35 years at the Ford Motor Company as a welder retiring in 1999, was a Lifetime member of the Bethel United Church of Christ in Manchester, obtained his Fellow Degree with the Ann Arbor Moose Lodge #1253 accepting his jacket during a ceremony in Sault St. Marie, Michigan. Bob was an avid outdoors man, he loved nothing more than spending time outdoors with his children and grandchildren fishing or hunting. Survivors in addition to his wife Nancy include their children Robin (Phil) Bowerman of Milan, Sue Ann (Matt) Brus of Virginia, Jackie Lanz of Ypsilanti, Matthew Guenther of Chelsea, Grandchildren Courtney, MiKayla, Emily and John Bowerman, Ashlee Lanz and Kelsey (Brandon) Woodman of Michigan, Steven, and Hans, and Jackson Brus of Virginia. Other survivors include his Great-Grandchildren Lily and Luke Woodman of Michigan, brother Aldean (Denise) Guenther of Brooklyn, Carol Colby of Ann Arbor, and Mary (Dan) Wages of Florida. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, countless people who he considered to be family, especially close friends at Bethel Church and the Ann Arbor Moose Lodge #1253, and his companion dog Toby. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Myrtle. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Bethel United Church of Christ in Manchester, 10425 Bethel Church Road, Manchester, MI, 48158, with Pastor David Bucholtz officiating. A luncheon will follow the service and will be held at the Church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his name may be made to the family c/o Nancy Guenther, or to Moose Charities. Envelopes will be available at the Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home in Saline where friends may join the family for a visitation on Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 2:00 P.M. 7:00 P.M. and again at the Church on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00 A.M.
